Who we are
Olive Tree Management is a Calgary-based real estate investment and management company. This policy applies to olivetreemanagement.ca and to enquiries submitted through it. It does not cover information collected offline or under a signed tenancy agreement, which is governed separately by that agreement.
What we collect
We collect two categories of information.
Information you give us
When you submit an enquiry form, we collect the details you enter. That is your name, email address, company name if you provide one, the enquiry type you select, and anything you write in the message field. If you email us directly, we hold the contents of that email.
Information collected automatically
Our web server and security software record standard technical information when you visit, including IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed and the time of the visit. This is used to keep the site available and secure. It is not used to build a profile of you.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and follow up about it
- To match a leasing requirement against available or upcoming property
- To keep a record of correspondence relating to the portfolio
- To protect the website against abuse, spam and unauthorised access
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not use enquiry information for advertising targeting.
Consent
Submitting a form or emailing us is taken as consent to use the information for the purposes above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, subject to any legal or contractual requirement to retain records.
Service providers
The website relies on third-party services that may process limited information on our behalf. These include our web hosting provider, which stores site data and server logs; Fluent Forms, which processes form submissions; Wordfence, which provides security monitoring and records requests; and Google Fonts, which serves typefaces and receives your IP address as part of that request.
These providers are used to operate the website. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to function, including those set by WordPress and by our security software. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings, though doing so may affect how parts of the site work.
How long we keep information
Enquiry submissions are retained while the enquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can follow up if suitable property becomes available. Server and security logs are retained on a rolling basis and overwritten in the ordinary course. Information is not kept longer than needed for the purpose it was collected for.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and protected by a web application firewall and malware scanning. Access to submitted enquiries is limited to people within the company who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under Canadian and Alberta privacy law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask for a copy of it
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- Ask us to delete it, subject to any legal retention requirement
- Withdraw consent to our use of it
Send any of these requests to the address below. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of eighteen.
Links to other sites
Where this site links to a third-party website, that site has its own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
